Coming Soon: “Homegrown Rocker” Tribute to Whitey Noll Special

The Pennsylvania music scene suffered some sad news this past Friday, January 29, with the passing of Leroy “Whitey” Noll – the founder of Pennsylvania Musician Magazine – at age 79 following a short battle with lung cancer. Whitey was a longtime member and friend of the state’s music community, and his magazine became a valuable and trusted resource that served, informed and connected the state’s musicians and music industry.

I’ll being paying tribute to Whitey on the February 14 edition of the “Homegrown Rocker.” I’ll share some remembrances and stories about Whitey, as well as the story of how he started Pennsylvania Musician Magazine. We’ll hear songs from Whitey’s 2000 album with Joe Agoglia, “Between the Curtains and the Clouds,” as well as excerpts from Whitey’s guest appearance on the “Homegrown Rocker” from March 2002, some live performance footage, and possibly some thoughts and remembrances of Whitey from members of the area music community.

It promises to be a special edition of the “Homegrown Rocker,” as we remember Whitey Noll – again happening on February 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. on Q94 Classic Rock!
