Longtime area music fans may remember the name Nitro, who graced local stages in the early 1980s and eventually hooked up with European heavy metal record label Mausoleum Records to issue their “Lethal Plus Two” album. An alumnus from the Centre Hall-based band, drummer and singer Tim Wilson, has continued to stay busy in the music realm, and – now based in Philadelphia – recently introduced his new recording project, Wax Mekanix, and the debut album from that project, “Mobocracy.” The album features a number of contributing musicians, including Tim’s Nitro bandmate John Hazel on guitar, Crobot singer Brandon Yeagley, and renowned Philadelphia rock-and-roller Tommy Conwell. We debuted this song recently on the “Homegrown Rocker” – here is the lyric video from the first single from Wax Mekanix, “All Freaks,” for this week’s installment of JP’s “Local Song of the Week!”
