State Police in Somerset confirmed that a man drowned at a local swimming hole.
According to Somerset County 911 officials, crews were called to the area of the 1500 block of Cottage Lane in Paint Township, just before 1 p.m., for a report of “an unknown aged male who jumped from a waterfall and never resurfaced.” Several were all on scene, as well as several local water rescue teams. State police identified the victim as Jeremiah Thompson, 20, of Pittsburgh. They said he was pronounced dead at the scene.
