You’re invited to the Shredding with Schmitt event to have important documents shredded for free. The event will be held at People’s Natural Gas Field (Curve Stadium), located at 1000 Park Ave., Altoona, on Wednesday, Oct.13, from 4-7 p.m.
One of the easiest ways to deter identity theft is to destroy documents that contain important information, such as a person’s full name, address, bank account information and Social Security number. This event provides residents with a means to safely destroy these documents so they don’t fall into the wrong hands.
Residents are asked to bring papers and documents in loose form. Magazines, books or trash will not be accepted. This is an event for residents only; no businesses, please.
Donations for the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society will be accepted during the event.
