Jim Gregory offers FREE paper shredding.

Rep. Jim Gregory (R-Blair) will host a pair of shredding events later this month for residents of the 80th District to securely shred documents, which can help to safeguard them from the potential of identity theft.

Document shredding will be offered from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, at Legion Memorial Park in Hollidaysburg and 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at the representative’s office at 135 Stadium Drive, Bellwood.

Residents are encouraged to attend the free events to shred documents that may contain sensitive information like Social Security or bank account numbers. The shredding is available for households but not businesses.

“We had a great response to a shredding event in 2019, and I’m looking forward to again seeing so many people take advantage of this service. We will be collecting nonperishable food in non-glass containers and personal care items to donate to community organizations,” Gregory said.

Each household may bring up to 100 pounds of paper. Paper clips and staples can be handled by Burgmeier’s Shredding. However, cardboard, hanging file folders, large binder clips and three-ring binders cannot be shredded.
