Authorities report that 28 year old Derek Edward Ashley Louk of Bedford is being held for the murder of his cousin. Police have identified the victim as Ty Matthai. Reports indicate that Louk had witnessed Matthei attack a woman when Matthai is accused of dragging the woman from Louk’s home. Matthai then reportedly threw the woman into his car, when Louk allegedly shot him several times with an AR-15 rifle, hitting him in the arms and back. Louk is accused of burying Matthai in a shallow grave and setting him on fire. Louk is charged with 3rd degree murder, homicide, aggravated assault, abuse of a corpse and other charges.
