The votes are still being counted, mail in votes that is and the race between Dr. Mehmet Oz and Dave McCormick is still too close to call 2 days after the election. Dr. Oz took the lead late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, and as of today still holds a lead of about 2000 votes. A problem surfaced yesterday in Luzerne County when election officials said that they are severely understaffed, which led to a major slowing up of the counting process. The race has garnered major attention across the nation, because it is one of the very few senate seats up for grabs that does not have an incumbent running. If the candidates finish separated by a half percentage point or less, there will be an automatic recount as per Pennsylvania law.
