A report in the Altoona Mirror indicates that police have charged 32 year old Charles McCahan of Saxton for killing his mother. The report indicates that McCahan told a court hearing back in January that his mother had tripped over the family cat and fell down a flight of stairs, where she was found. An autopsy revealed that the victim, Ouita McCahan had died from strangulation along with blunt force trauma injuries. McCahan was arrested and charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, strangulation, simple assault and reckless endangerment.
