A report by the Altoona Mirror indicates that a meeting last night about a proposed Rutters store along old Rt. 220 in Pinecroft has angered some residents. The store is proposed for a corner lot located on old 220 at Sabbbath Rest road, but folks say the store could harm the little Juniata River, and the trout that live in the water. 8 residents spoke at the meeting to voice their opposition to the proposed Rutters store that one person called a truck stop. President of the Little Juniata River Assoc says he is in favor of development, but in this case, he says that the store could cause the water temp of the river to rise, which would kill the fish. One person stated that there are much better sites for Rutters to build their store, rather than on top of a limestone bed.
