WTAJ reports that the Cambria County D.A. has filed charges against 71 year old Ronald Paronish after he allegedly fought with a man he said was making unnecessary and illegal repairs on some property he owns. The report states that Paronish was set to begin spying on the man, but he chose not to after he told police he was having knee pain. The two eventually came in contact with one another when the second man picked up Paronish and started to give him a ride. The two then told police conflicting stories about an alleged assault. Paronish then told police that he had been shot by the second man. The D.A. After weighing the evidence and statements, ruled the shooting to be in self defense. Paronish is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, harassment, making false reports to police, criminal mischief and trespassing.
