In a report by WTAJ, the board on Friday afternoon approved a motion to make a formal request to the general assembly for significantly more state funding for next school year. The board is no going to ask for $357 million, a hefty 47.6% increase from the $242 million it received this year. Penn state is seeking the same level of funding that Temple University now receives per student. Also on Friday, the board approved the operating budget for this current school year at $8.6 billion.
