News reports bring out the fact that the new carrier at the Altoona-Blair County airport has begun daily jet flights to Philadelphia. Contour airlines took over flight service at the airport yesterday, and has partnered with American Airlines to provide flights to Philly. The new service is a one ticket operation, with passengers able to book flights to practically anywhere around the world. Contour says that this new service will open up opportunities and economic development for the entire area. Flights will leave the airport 7 days a week, with two flights per day on Mon, Wed, Thur, Fri and Sun. One flight per day schedule is Tue and Sat. The fare to Philly is $49 one way.
