A report from CapitolWire through the Altoona Mirror indicates that the state has awarded an Arizona company a $41 million contract to outfit troopers with the latest technology in terms of body and dashboard cameras. The new deal also will equip new recording systems for interview rooms at barracks locations. State troopers will receive some 2500 body worn cameras and 1700 new recording cameras for patrol vehicles. Pa capitol police are also in a technology upgrade, and say they may have their new equipment in time for next Tuesday’s inauguration of Gov. Elect Josh Shapiro.
