A report in the Altoona Mirror indicates that Chief Dave Reese has turned in his resignation to the township board of supervisors. Reese has been the police chief for the past 5 years, and according to board chairman Jim Patterson, there was nothing to warrant his resignation. Patterson was quoted as saying that it is time for Chief Reese to enjoy retired life. Reese came to Logan Twp after he retired from the pa state police, and worked in the Blair County Sheriff’s Dept as chief deputy.. Patterson also said that Reese did an outstanding job as chief. He replaced Tim Mercer. The township has named Det. Sgt Dave Hoover as interim police chief.
