A report in the Altoona Mirror indicates that Judge Ilissa Zimmerman pulled the names of Matt Mielnik and Peg Murphy from the race for Hollidaysburg school board, and Benjamin Hornberger for Antis Twp supervisor. Judge Zimmerman removed the names after a hearing was conducted because the three candidates did not properly submit their financial interest statements to the proper entities. Some Hollidaysburg residents had challenged both Mielnik’s and Murphy’s candidacies because they had not filed the financial statements. Hornberger told the judge that the petition filed against him contained invalid signatures, but the judge dismissed that claim.
