A Lewistown man is in jail today following an investigation into child sex abuse and bestiality. Police arrested 21-year-old Shaun Mellot who allegedly assaulted two children and reportedly performed sex acts on a family dog. Authorities in Mifflin County learned last month that Mellot had been assaulting a young girl on numerous occasions at a home in Lewistown Borough. Upon further investigation a second victim came forward to report Mellott had sexually assaulted them as well. Police also report that several family members witnessed him performing sex acts on the family dog. Mellott has been charged with rape, deviate sexual intercourse and sexual intercourse with an animal. He is currently in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility.
