Hello Everyone,
Here is the recap of the April 13 edition of “The Homegrown Rocker,” which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Q94 Classic Rock (www.q94classicrock.com), and from 10 PM to midnight on 107.1 and 101.3 Jack FM (www.1071jack.fm)!
This week, we spoke via phone with Mike Wise, the singer, ringleader, lead wildman and founder of longtime central PA party band force Emily’s Toybox! Emily’s Toybox celebrates 30 years as a band this year, so Mike discussed the history of the group, their music, live show and long-awaited new album which will drop later this year! We played some Emily’s Toybox classics, and also debuted a brand new song off their forthcoming album! We also debuted new songs from Anti-Corn League, Samantha Sears and Coltt Winter Lepley plus updated “Local Music News.” And we dug out two “Local Music Flashback” songs from the archive this week – a 1991 song by Mike Wise’s former band Blaz-On, and a 2003 number from Fulton County rockers Way Down East! (For those who missed the program, a four-part podcast of this show is available for listening or download from Q94’s website, www.q94classicrock.com. Click on “The Professor’s Classroom,” and then scroll down to “Homegrown Rocker Podcast” and look for the four show segments marked with the date, 041325.)
