The 55th annual Special Olympics Pennsylvania Summer Games kick off today at Penn State. The opening ceremony will take place tonight at 7:15 at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Over 2,000 athletes, 800 coaches, and over 1,000 volunteers will be in attendance for three days of competition that includes softball, swimming, basketball, and other sporting events. The 2025 Summer Games will also serve as preparation for athletes competing in next year’s Special Olympics USA Games in Minneapolis.
