Allegations of excessive force on the part of an Altoona Police Officer have been ruled unfounded, after city police conducted an investigation.  On July 4th Officer Travis Glass punched Ryan Coke in Coke’s apartment at Logan Hills, after the officer reportedly forced his way into the home, after Coke, and a woman identified as Melissa Gleixner, refused to give their names.  Reportedly, officers were called to the residence to investigate a noise complaint.  Video surveillance set up in the apartment, caught the incident and was later uploaded to YouTube, prompting the investigation.  Reportedly, Altoona Police Chief Joe Merrill said an investigation that was conducted by internal affairs showed allegations of excessive force, and unlawful entry on the part of Officer Glass to be unfounded.  Last week, initial charges filed against Coke and Gleixner were withdrawn, however new charges of stalking and terroristic threats, along with harassment were filed against the two.  According to WTAJ News the pair’s attorney, Dan Kiss called the investigation “one sided,” and said his clients plan on moving forward with a civil lawsuit against the police.
