20 States, Including PA, File Lawsuit Against HUD

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro is joining a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  The lawsuit filed by Democratic officials in 20 states claims HUD is drastically changing its Continuum of Care program supporting the homeless, in violation of congressional intent.  The suit says HUD is withholding funding from applicants that acknowledge transgender people and is discriminating against municipalities that approach homelessness differently than the Trump administration.  Governor Shapiro accused the Trump Administration of “trying to abruptly dismantle the very system Congress created to fight homelessness.”
