A petition to rename Nashville International Airport after Dolly Parton is gaining new momentum following the country music icon’s death. More than 70-thousand people have signed the online petition, which was launched in 2025 after Tennessee lawmakers considered naming the airport for President Donald Trump. Parton herself once joked about the idea, saying it would be fun to hear passengers told their flight was “departin’ from Nashville’s D. Parton.” Tens of thousands of new signatures have been added since news of her passing.
