I’d heard reports of them in the area, and had seen photos on the internet, but this was my first sighting of one – this week at home. I texted it to Penn State Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Tom Ford, who reminded me everyone is asked to report *any* sightings. You can call 1-888-BAD FLY (1-888-422-3359) or CLICK THIS LINK to submit the info online. I tried to kill it, but when I got close enough (the photo is cropped; I took it from a distance), it flew away. I’ll warn you, they’re fast. I chased it after it landed a few times, but it eventually disappeared. Tom Ford says “the population is exploding in (Greenwood) and 2022they will be everywhere from Altoona to Greenwood ti beyond Penn State Altoona to 58th Street on the south side.” –Doug
