Here is a listing of area live music and online music happenings for the weekend and week of Friday, January 14 through Thursday, January 20.
Before the snowflakes fly with the impending winter weather event being forecast for Sunday into Monday, there is plenty of live music to be enjoyed on area stages.
One location where snow flying is a good thing, Blue Knob All Seasons Resort, has a busy weekend with several live music events. Blue Knob features a live music doubleheader on Friday evening with entertainment happening at two locations. Area acoustic favorites Lauren & Joe entertain at the resort’s Mueller’s Pub from 6 to 9 p.m. Following at 9 p.m., Felix & the Hurricanes then take the stage at the Blue Knob Clubhouse. And if you like your live music with a taste of cocoa, the Blue Knob Convention Center hosts “Cocoa & a Concert” on Saturday evening starting at 7. Local songwriters Rue Moyer and Devin Sherman will perform their original song creations, alternating with five-song sets through the evening. Meanwhile, cocoa-themed drinks, chocolates and cocoa-inspired desserts and pastries will be served. Admission to the event is $10 per person, which includes one complementary hot cocoa and one dessert. This will be the first in a series of events to promote and showcase local singers and songwriters. In addition, Rue Moyer will be recording a second live album during this event as well.
