R.I.P. Songwriter Kerry Chater – he was 76

Kerry Chater, born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada,  co-wrote a good number of hits over the years: Lee Greenwood’s “I.O.U.”,  Reba McEntire’s “You’re The First Time I’ve Thought About Leaving.” Alabama’s “If I Had You,” Jennifer Warnes “I Know A Heartache When I See One,” and George Strait’s “You Look So Good In Love.”  Before writing a string of Country hits, he was a member of Gary Puckett & The Union Gap.
