On this day in 1979 was a song co-written by the guy who produced hits for Sonny and Cher, Vicki Lawrence’s “The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia” as well as Tanya Tucker’s “Lizzie and the Rainman.” The producer’s name is Snuff Garrett and in 1978 he produced a country-oriented soundtrack for a Clint Eastwood movie. He even produced and co-wrote the title track from the movie. On February 10th, 1979, the number one Country song was Eddie Rabbitt’s “Every Which Way But Loose.”
