News reports indicate that the judge says that the appeal should not be considered at this time, because of another appeal that is still pending. Sandusky is already challenging the $95,000 he was ordered to pay in restitution to Centre County for the costs of his child sex abuse trial. The issue still sits before the Centre County Court of Common Pleas, and is still unresolved. That is why the federal judge is requesting that the latest appeal be denied until the restitution issued is settled. He can file another appeal at another time. Sandusky is serving 30-60 years in state prison for sexually abusing children while he coached at Penn State.
