Johnstown officials provided updates on a homicide over the weekend, where two people and a dog were found dead with multiple gunshot wounds. Lionel Mickens, 61, and Britney Rummell, 36, were found dead in the second-floor bedroom of Mickens’ home on the 500 block of Pine Street on April 30. The pet dog, a pit bull mix, was also found dead in the bedroom. All three died of multiple gunshot wounds and their manner of death has been ruled a homicide after autopsies were conducted on Sunday, according to Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees. Police said all three were dead for several days before their bodies were discovered during a welfare check. The relationship between the victims is unclear. There were no signs of forced entry at the residence and no weapons were recovered at the scene, according to police. This is the 7th and 8th homicide in Cambria County in 2022. Officials said this appears to be a targeted incident and does not appear to be drug-related. Pennsylvania Crimestoppers is offering $1,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Anyone with information can call the Cambria County non-emergency number at (814) 472-2100.
