News reports indicate that work is set to begin on the Blair House apartments in Huntingdon after being empty for two years. The building was ravaged by fire twice in the past two years, and Huntingdon Boro officials announced this week that the restoration work will begin this summer. 59 people were forced out of their homes because of the first fire back in may 2020. Workers will first gut the inside of the building and make sure it is safe for inside construction work. Then a new roof will be added by fall. No timetable was given for when residents will be able to return.
