
The letter sent to the school, is asking the administration to reconsider the cuts that are in the process of being made. The main university in State College sent put a letter telling branch campuses to find ways to cut budgets. Penn State Altoona is looking at $4.3 million in cuts for its budget. Many folks feel that these cuts would severely cripple the arts and sciences programs at the school. The letter also expressed concern about some teaching positions that also would be cut if cutbacks are made, along with hurting black students, indigenous and people of color, transgender, bisexual and gay students who are attracted to these programs, according to a report in the Altoona Mirror.
