Television news reports indicate that Penn Highlands Healthcare announced yesterday that the company will build a brand new hospital and medical office building in State College. The hospital system broke ground yesterday on the $70 million venture, which will proved more state of the art medical care in the Central Pa region. The two new facilities are being labeled as “Patient-Centric” facilities. The hospital, will feature 18 private inpatient rooms, world class emergency dept and state of the art surgical rooms. The medical office building will feature a walk-in clinic, a cancer center, family, pediatric and specialty physicians and a retail pharmacy. The project should be completed by spring 2024.
