The National Desk reported that while millions still took to the highways for the memorial day holiday, they felt the pain at the pumps. Not one state has reported gas prices less than $4.10 per gallon on average as of yesterday. 7 different states have reported that gas is now up to the $5/gallon price. New York and Arizona are the next two states likely to join that list, and pa is not far behind. The national average for a gallon of regular gas is up to $4.62 as of yesterday. In Altoona gas is at an all time high of $4.75/gallon. The only other time in history that average gas prices were this high was in 2008, when a gallon went for $5.38 on average.
