News and police reports indicate that the Phoenix Volunteer Fire Company was the first to respond to the fire at the transportation garage owned by Blair Senior Services on Loop Road early Sunday morning. The initial report was that the building itself was on fire, but it was discovered that at least 6 transportation vans actually were ablaze, but officials said that the building was in danger of catching fire. After Phoenix arrived, Greenwood, Allegheny Twp, Duncansville, Freedom Twp, Lakemont, Roaring Spring and Geeseytown tankers all arrived to help put out the flames. The investigation is ongoing, and the cause is not known.
