Members of the state legislature were absent again yesterday from the state capitol as Pennsylvania enters its 6th day without a new state budget. The Associated press is reporting that Gov Wolf and republicans are about $1 billion apart from a new spending plan, which will begin to affect the state maybe the next two weeks or so. On the good news side of this, some lawmakers say that there could be plenty of action on the budget either tomorrow and or Friday, if members of both chambers get to the capitol. On the negotiating front are a proposed cut of the state’s 10% corporate income tax, and how much money public schools will get for the coming school year, charter school regulations and state money for the University of Pittsburgh regarding fetal tissue research.
