A report by channel 6 indicates that state Rep. Jim Rigby’s bill has been signed into law by gov wolf. The house bill 940, named titan’s law will protect police dogs in the line of duty, and will expand penalties when a suspect injures or kills a Police dog in the line of duty. Titan, a K-9 officer with the Johnstown Police Dept, was killed after falling down an elevator shaft in November of 2020. Titan served the Dept for 6 years. The bill will increase penalties for criminals who harm or kill police dogs.
