WJAC reported that an officer of the Richland Twp Police Dept was injured after a man drove his vehicle on the berm of the road, while two officers were assisting another motorist. The report says that the driver continued on the berm striking the police cruiser. The car of the suspect caught fire after impact. Charges are pending against the unidentified driver. The injured officer and the driver of the car that hit him were both taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
