
A report in the Altoona mirror Indicates that Blair County will get its 5th judge for the bench tomorrow. Ilissa Zimmerman will be sworn in to take her place on the bench of the court of common please in Hollidaysburg. Zimmerman will fill the seat left open by the retirement of Judge Dan Milliron, who now serves as a senior judge. Zimmerman’s name was sent to the governor with the endorsement of State Senator Judy Ward. Soon to be Judge Zimmerman will serve out the remainder of Judge Milliron’s term, which will expire at the end of 2023. She will not preside over any criminal cases as an appointed judge, according to D.A. Pete Weeks. Zimmerman was chosen from a field of 8 candidates who submitted their names for consideration. The seat will be on the ballot in November of 2023.
