Last summer, a huge explosion killed one resident in the downtown area. Another fire devastated that same area just a few weeks ago. There have been 2 police standoffs in the past few months, and now police in Tyrone borough are investigating a tragic incident from last night. Reports indicate that a 14 year old boy was killed after being shot with a 40 caliber handgun. Police were sent to a home on the 300 block of w. 15th street shortly before 1:00 Thursday afternoon. Blair County Coroner Patty Ross confirmed the child’s death, and will perform an autopsy today. Police continue their investigation.
