
A report from Harrisburg indicates that the Turnpike Commission has approved a 5% toll increase for 2023. The new rates will go into effect on January 8th. E-z pass customers will see a10 cent increase, toll by plate users will see a 30 cent increase and commercial e-z pass drivers will see a 70 cent increase in tolls, and toll by plate commercial drivers will pay $1.40 cents more. Turnpike officials say that the increases are necessary to meet their financial obligations under act 44 of 2007. A spokesperson says with the increases, the per mile rate toll for Pa. is still below the midway point when compared to other tolling agencies in the country.
