
In a report by channel 6, the unidentified official said that anytime a large employer freezes hirings, it is a concern. The school announced on Tuesday that it will cease hiring anyone for most of its departments for at least a year. The reason given is to try and bring the schools finances into balance. School officials cited the economic slowdown, inflation, pandemic related issues and other budget challenges as reasons for the hiring freeze. the school earlier this summer raised tuition by 5% and they are confident that the financial team will solve the budget crisis. The school is looking for ways to reduce expenses, but did not say whether employee layoffs will be considered.
