At AG Progress days in Centre County, Senator Bob Casey and Rep. Glenn Thompson told a crowd that farming is a top priority across the state. Both men agree that young farmers are going to be needed in the immediate future to keep many farms afloat. Thompson said that he introduced a bill that would help young farmers with loan payback incentives, and Sen. Casey said that the senate will be there to help support farmers and their work. Both men said that a food shortage looms on the horizon, and helping farmers is now at the critical stage. Thompson said that science, technology and innovation will be a large part of the farming process moving forward.
