The report now says that a pay raise set to go into effect could push those salaries past $100,000 per year beginning next year. Lawmakers have the ability to reject any pay increase and return it to the budget, but according to the report, only 6 legislators have done that over the past 4 years.. The annual cost of living adjustment is between 1% and 3% thanks to a 1995 law passed that protects them from political criticism for voting themselves a pay raise.
