A report by WTAJ indicates that striking nurses are getting ready to return to work after a tentative contract agreement was reached last week. The nurses went on strike September 2nd after talks broke down. Some 700 union workers were off the job, but were expected to return this past weekend. 13 of 14 nursing homes taking part in the strike have settled, but Shenandoah Heights in Schuylkill County still has not settled, but were negotiating. The main issue of the strike was staffing problems at nursing homes caused by the pandemic, and long work schedules for nurses.
