Television news reports indicate that Senator Casey stopped by the Eastern Atlantic Regional States Regional Council of Carpenters and Joiners facility in Duncansville. The facility is a center for training of future carpenters, and gives them skills in the trade such as heavy construction, professional carpentry, floor covering, millwright, cabinetmaker and mill worker. Casey stressed the need for such centers to develop the workforce, which will help build the economy. Casey also stated the he hopes the younger generation will become interested in the trades as a way to make a living. The program covers 17 counties in central and western pa, also parts of Maryland and West Va.
