News reports indicate that Altoona Police arrested Travis Pfahler after it was reported a tip was called into police that Pfahler was staying at a home in Duncansville. Pfahler was accused this week of stealing a car early Monday morning, then abandoning the car at the Logan Hills apartment complex after he was stopped. Pfahler took off on foot, crossing I-99 before eluding police. Police located Pfahler Monday night, and he tried to run again, but was caught after a brief chase. Altoona, Allegheny Twp, Hollidaysburg Boro and Blair Twp police all assisted with the capture. Pfahler is charged with theft and receiving stolen property along with several other charges.
