A report by WJAC indicates that new owner Leo Karruli says he has plans for the mall to get shoppers back into the nearly 30 year old complex. Karruli said he purchased the facility for just $3 million, after it went into foreclosure, which has driven many businesses out. Karruli said he has most of the food court full, and hopes to get more stores operating in a reasonable amount of time. He also said that improvements need to happen, including the parking lot that surrounds the mall, which is slated to be repaired next springtime. Karruli owns properties in North Carolina and Florida, and says he can save the mall with lots of work.
