The Altoona Mirror reports that the borough has selected Christopher Storm to be its new chief of police. Storm has an extensive police background. He was a borough police office from 1989 through 1995. Then he enlisted in the State Police academy, graduated and made his way through the ranks, all the way to Major. Borough council had advertised for the position in October 2021. Along with Chief Storm, the dept added Officer Michael Faussette to its ranks, bringing the number of officers to 7. The borough has room and money for 2 more officer positions.
