WTAJ reported that 13 city firefighters received medals of honor for their work in saving lives at the Logan Hills apartment complex. The report indicates that several people were trapped inside a burning apartment on Easter Sunday. 4 of the firefighters went inside and rescued those who were trapped, and received the medal of valor, and 9 others battled the flames during that daring rescue and were given life saving medals. Capt. Ben Barstow said that they are paid to save lives and property, and he praised the members of the Altoona Fire Dept for their hard work and dedication.
