According to WTAJ, police arrested 31 year old Matthew Burket and charged him with injuring the child to the point where the baby had to be flown to Pittsburgh’s Children’s Hospital. The report states that Burkett told police the child was injured while he was holding the infant, and he tried to prevent another child from falling off of a table. After police staged a re-enactment of the incident, a local doctor determined that a fall did not cause the serious injuries, rather a series of blows to the head was more probable. The child’s mother who was also questioned, told police the Burket deals with anger issues. Burket was charged with child endangerment and felony aggravated assault, and is locked up on $200,000 bail.
