The Altoona Mirror reports that senior Judge Dan Milliron sentenced 35 year old Dustin Martell to 3 ½ to 10 years in prison for causing the infant to overdose on heroin in 2021. Martell pleaded guilty this week to charges of endangering the welfare of children, and drug possession among others. Martell admitted in court that he regularly used drugs, in particular heroin, and that the 10 month old child must have gotten into his stash on October 6th of last year. Police said that the child’s mother, Christine Baker administered narcan to her child, who was taken to UPMC Pittsburgh. Police charged baker in the case, and she is awaiting a December hearing to face charges.
