Hollidaysburg State Police report the accident occurred in the northbound lanes of I-99 yesterday morning. Details are few this morning, but police did report that a 72 year old man was apparently standing in the right lane of I-99 just south of the Bald Eagle exit in Snyder Twp, when a tractor trailer drove by and apparently struck the victim. He was rushed to UPMC Altoona but was pronounced dead. Police did not release the identity of the person killed, only to say that he was from Altoona. The investigation is continuing.
